Cannabis user genetic test
The Original since 2016.
Purple Smog developed the first genetic test focused on the personalized effects of cannabis use based on a user's genes. The test is designed to help the medical or recreational cannabis user to understand how consuming cannabis or cannabis products is predicted to affect them specifically based on their genes.
The Purple Smog Genetic test looks at almost 50 specific genetic markers scientifically shown to correlate with aspects of cannabis effects such as:
-
Paranoia/psychosis
-
THC levels/metabolism
-
Memory/Attention impairment
-
Psychomotor control impairment
-
Subjective effects (happiness, hallucinations, impulsivity, anger, fatigue, confusion, anxiety, satiation)
-
Craving/Withdrawal
-
Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome
-
Dependence
-
Synthetic Cannabis use disorder
Knowing more about your genetics allows you to better understand how you are genetically predisposed to react to cannabis, letting you know what to expect, and helping you to choose which strains and doses are right for you.

Benefits of Taking The Purple Smog Genetics Test:
Sometimes the experience you get after using cannabis is not enjoyable or what was expected. Some people may unexpectedly experience paranoia, memory impairment, loss of motor control, or other negative side effects, while some people may over or under does. It is known that the two main strains of cannabis (Indica and Sativa) can have differing effects on some people because of different ratios of THC, CBD, terpenes, etc. Generally, Sativas can make you more active, and some report, more paranoid. Conversely, Indicas can make you more relaxed, and has less of a paranoid edge. Knowing you may be more predisposed to paranoia, where indicas might be more suitable for you, is one of the main reasons to take the Purple Smog test. The test also gives you risk factors for other characteristics such as cannabis related memory impairment, psychomotor control loss, withdrawal and craving symptoms, and cannabis dependence, among other traits.

-
Paranoia/psychosis risk test may help users avoid strains that would lead to a bad experience.

The withdrawal/craving risk tests will tell you if you are at risk for feeling worse if you stop smoking suddenly after prolonged use. This will let you know you should wean yourself off rather than go cold turkey.
-
Dependence risk tests will tell you if you are at higher risk for developing dependence on marijuana after long term use, so you can moderate your intake.

Memory impairment tests will let you know whether you are at higher risk for memory risk when using cannabis.
-
The motor control impairment test will let you know if you are more susceptible to being clumsy when using cannabis.
